Lesson Title – Tongue twister tales

Essential Reading Element - Phonics
Objective(s) – To create cooperative – oral stories using the same initial consonant sounds.
Procedure – As a large group work together to create a tongue twister tale. Each child adds 1 word to the tale. Each word needs to begin with the same sound. The adult facilitator begins the tale with a proper name. Ex. – Ann.
Child 1 may add - ate
Child 2 may add – apples
Child 3 may add – all
Child 4 may add – around
Child 5 may add – the arctic
Connecting words –to, the, etc. can be added.
Implementation - We had a lot of fun with this. Students had a great time coming up with tongue twisters. Then I asked each student to go home and make up a tongue twister to bring back and share with the class.
